Presidential Candidates Claim To Support Our Troops, But Who Do Our Troops Support For President?

Here’s another great video showing the principled record of Ron Paul and how he always sticks to principle and does what he says. It also highlights the flip-flopping of the other two top Republican presidential candidates, Mitt Romney & Rick Perry. I’ll post the video and make a few comments below:

As the video shows and as I mentioned in my last post, Ron Paul Predicted 9/11, his two top issues have always been economics and foreign policy. I’ve posted a few times before about Ron Paul’s accurate predictions of the economic collapse, but my last post and this video help demonstrate how well he predicted our foreign policy woes, as well. The biggest concern I hear from other Republicans about Ron Paul is that they agree with him on everything but foreign policy. I want to break down that concern and help you to see that Ron Paul has been right about foreign policy because he understands the consequences of foreign intervention. His views coincide with the early Presidents, like John Quincy Adams, who declared:

America, in the assembly of nations, since her admission among them, has invariably…held forth to them the hand of honest friendship, of equal freedom, of generous reciprocity. She has uniformly spoken among them…the language of equal liberty, of equal justice, and of equal rights. She has, in the lapse of nearly half a century, without a single exception, respected the independence of other nations while asserting and maintaining her own. She has abstained from interference in the concerns of others, even when conflict has been for principles to which she clingsWherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.  She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own…She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence…The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to forceShe might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit….

[America’s] glory is not dominion, but liberty.

There is wisdom in a foreign policy of nonintervention. It makes us SAFER, it makes us FREER. It is respects the rights of others and is moral.

I will post more on this topic in the future, but a telling signal that those serving in the armed forces, who should know, agree with Ron Paul on foreign policy is something the video showed regarding donations of military members to Ron Paul. A recent article shows the numbers from the video as well:

  • Rep. Michelle Bachmann: $2,550
  • Herman Cain: $6,223
  • Rep. Newt Gingrich: $1,025
  • Gov. Gary Johnson: $0
  • Rep. Ron Paul: $36,739.79
  • Gov. Tim Pawlenty (dropped out of race): $250
  • Gov. Mitt Romney: $5,000
  • Sen. Rick Santorum: $250

I remember the exact same thing happened last election cycle in 2008. Active military members have shown overwhelming support for Ron Paul. The other Republican candidates have a history of, and presently, support the wars. It’s time to stand on the same side as our Founders, as our military members, and support Peace.
